Break Open The Heavens - Isaiah 64

“Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence” – Isaiah 64:1
These are the words of the prophet Isaiah. A prophet who lived in the midst of a stubborn people. They were a people who refused to live according to God’s command. They claimed to be righteous, but they refused to believe the Word of the Lord. It was in this time period of encroaching darkness that Isaiah cried out to the Lord “Oh that you would rip open the heavens, that you would come down.” Have you not felt like this at some point? Lord, just one more time – split open the heavens – come back to this earth so that the mountains would tremble before you. What a sight this would be!
