Christ Our Passover - Exodus 12:13
“When I see the blood, I will passover you” (Exodus 12:13). These must have been sweet words to the Hebrews living in Egypt! In our passage this morning, we will find three basic truths regarding our Passover Lamb.
First, the blood of this Lamb satisfies God. So when the plague of death came upon the land of Egypt the plague passed over them.
Second, the blood of the lamb provided shelter to everyone who went under it.
Third, the blood was sufficient it that, it never needed to be reapplied.
Those under the blood found themselves at peace with God. For this event foreshadows the amazing atoning work of our Saviour. For those under His blood will also find themselves at peace with God.
“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” - Hebrews 10:10.
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” – Colossians 1:20.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24
