The Book of Genesis - Genesis 1
The book of Genesis is probably the most attacked books in the Bible. This is especially true when we come to the first eleven chapters of the book which deal with the origin of things i.e. “the origin of sin, suffering, death and so many other firsts.” A right view of this book provides the reader with the proper understanding of God, humanity, salvation, and God’s eternal plan.
The battle begins before we even get the first few words of Genesis 1:1 out of our mouth.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Before we can explain the first ten words in the Bible there comes of loud protest challenging even the authorship of this book. It is even more tragic when we discover that the first mortar rounds pounding the veracity of this book are often fired by those who claim to know Christ.
So, this is where we will begin. We will first deal with the challenges against a Mosaic authorship and how Moses was able to write accurately about subjects and people who lived Centuries and in some cases millenniums before him.
