Did You Do This Unto Me? - Zechariah 7 & 8
In this study we will carefully examine chapters 7 and 8 in the book of Zechariah. In it we will find a question that reaches beyond our worship activity. The Lord asks the piercing question, “DID YOU DO IT FOR ME?” In other words, . . . “When you had your Christmas celebration, the LORD asks, “DID YOU DO IT FOR ME?” When you gathered for communion, “Was it another ritual or DID YOU DO IT FOR ME?” When you gathered for worship, “Is your worship practice designed to satisfy your needs, or DID YOU DO IT FOR ME?”
In these prophetic passages we will find that a “Faith without piety (godly conduct) is a mockery of both God and man. Religion without morality is useless; morality without true religion is baseless . . . God seeks truth in the inward parts and expects it to be manifested to those about us.” Charles L. Feinberg. The Minor Prophets. (Chicago: Moody Press. sixth printing 1982). pg. 306.
