Pleasing in God's Sight - 1 Thessalonians 3 & 4
Paul had been reminding the Thessalonians believers of the ministry that he had among them. Although he was not able to see them face to face, he still loved them and had them in his heart. He cared about them so much that he did everything he could in order to be with them. But Satan kept throwing up hindrances or roadblocks that prevented Paul from getting back to them. But Paul did not look back and give in to regret and
remorse. Paul wanted to get back to them very badly, but he was hindered. He finally got to the point we he could no longer bear the thought of not knowing what was happening or of not being able to help them (3:1). He cared about them so much that he felt that it was better to be left alone in Athens, so he sent
Timothy to them (3:2). This evening we will examine: 1. How to keep on being steadfast in the faith (even in the face of trials); 2. How to walk in this world and remain pleasing before the LORD and 3. Our future hope.
